A Tourist maybe? … I worked the Beaujolais vendange in 1985 as a (Wolverhampton) design student with wunderlust - Regnie before it was Cru. Hard, very hard work from before sun-up until after sun-down. Long working days. Beaujeau was the nearest bar - and the Arc-en-ciel the only nightclub in the entire region.
The vigneron pointed out (with sadness) the drainage ditches glowing vivid green growth with fertilizer run-off. And the sacks of sugar alongside the wine presses. Drinking the purple fizzy fresh run wine was an experience, with explosive weight loss the next day.
Wouldnt change a moment. My favourite wine region and astounding that it has never got expensive.
