What’s in your basket: November & December 2021

Ah right, exactly what I have done. Thought they may have been included in the upcoming weekend with friends.
Edit - still interested btw. Let’s see who wilts first?

I was looking at this last week. I should have bought some. Not like me to hesitate…, :slightly_frowning_face:

No it’s not. Are you feeling ok?

Must be all these colds the little guy keeps sharing. Making my head foggy and indecisive.

On the plus side, a case of assorted treats arrived today (not free wine, sadly).

Proving once more that I have no willpower, Bandol 'La Tourtine', Domaine Tempier 2011 was more temptation than I could resist.

6 ordered for delivery Saturday - not mucking about with a chance of a #shortfall

The cupboard is fairly stocked up but have just enough room for some free wine (sort of)
from reserves for the next few months, arriving on TWS van on Wednesday. Winter and festive drinking :grinning:

I may crack a 2018 over Christmas , if I can find room in the garage to have them released from L&W.

Also I’ve just ordered a case of this ;
https://www.thewinesociety.com/product/weinert-cabernet-sauvignon-2010
2006 & 2008 were absolute crackers and I’ve only 2 bottles left so bankrupting myself further to put another vintage by :see_no_evil:.

I ordered a few of the Weinert Cab Sav’s last time round. Can’t go wrong with Weinert in my book.

Then while congratulating myself on almost reaching 3 weeks without ordering any wine, I spotted a few bottles of the Anglianico and cracked, resulting in this order which had been sitting in the basket in various forms for the last 2.71 weeks:

One last hurrah before Christmas… top two mixed cases have gone into reserves, and the rest are due to arrive tomorrow.

I’m not going to lie, I’m slightly anxious about the last one on the list which is now showing out of stock.

Very nice order. What will be your last of the year?

Some random presents and whatever new takes my fancy in a couple of weeks.
Will also get some Santorini Vinsanto from Maltby and Greek together with some foodie treats there.

Thank you for bringing it to my attention!

Little order to end the year, and just to prove the old adage that we’re all hypocrites in the end, I couldn’t resist the ‘big, fruity’ tag of the Perdiguier - because I don’t really keep many wines like that - for over Christmas to go with a very rich beef dish.

A small pre-Christmas top up to supplies arrived today:

  • A couple of bottles of Portuguese white for family drinking. Not tried before, looked interesting.
  • Cosme: first bottle of a case in reserves to see what it’s like. Probably drink New Years eve.
  • 1960 Rancy: love tasting old madeiras and similar. Not tried Rivesaltes / Rancy before though.
  • Huet: my favourite wine. Loving the fact I can get these from reserves one bottle at a time now, even if it costs a tenner

“No more wine until next year” he said.

“oooh, I appear to be stood outside Berry Brothers” he also said, while walking home from the West End to Clapham yesterday.

Ooops. At least it was just two bottles (plus a bottle of Cognac as a gift).

Carema vs Careme. The reserve version of the Carema Nebbiolo I took to the SW London tasting meal and one of my favourite Vouvray Sec’s. Excited to try both!
