I withdrew 2 x 12 half bottles of my Guigal 2016 from my reserves, for immediate delivery.
I replaced them with stock arriving on the 15th May.
A convoluted method in my Taffy :dragon: madness! :wink:

Evening @Taffy-on-Tour found these in my Dads house and they’re packaged up to come down to our place .
What’s do you think the drink range on this vintage is?

2016 Guigal CDR will go 10 years no problem. The main issue is that they will be drinkable already!

I will have to find a restful location until we move the Eurocave and keep my hand off them for a few years

I happen to think that this is the best Guigal CdR since the 1980’s.
The 2012 is still drinking very well.
My gut says given the spectacular vintage that was 2016 in Southern Rhone, the magicians that the Guigal’s are, and that they moved heaven and earth to buy up so many growers best wines from that exalted vintage - 2028 would not surprise me!! :wink:
And we are just getting started here. For those who have not tasted it, then Tesco currently have it on offer for £10 per bottle!! :open_mouth:

Forgive my ignorance but how have you managed to put Le Great 2018 in reserves when I haven’t even got my 2017 en primeur- hasten to add that there isn’t any of the above in my order sadly.

Took your advice and put an order in for four halves of Guigal CdR along with A few other bits and bobs.

I purchased it from the Rhone EP 2018 Remainder List with the instruction for it to be placed in my Reserves Account.
I hope that clears that up. :+1: :wink:

Thanks, I misunderstood thinking that you had put them physically in your reserves, not that it is any of my business :slightly_smiling_face:.

I liked your comments on Grivot, and went on my favourite website but they only have vintages of their gamay and the more expensive village wines. Will have to do some research…

The 2018 Grivot Bourgogne was on the remaining stocks list I think so might be worth checking with Member Services.

I have requested a 6 bottle case of the 2018 from the Remainder List.
It is worth saying that these lists can be a terrific resource of available wine. :+1: :wink:

2 x 6 bottle cases in M.R. of this superb aged Muscadet. I suspect this would have been one of the stars of the cancelled April TWS grand wine tasting for the great & the good.

It’s drinking well well right now, powerful and full of character; to my mind its really in the same class as a grand cru Chablis. Two cases in reserves so I can be drinking some at Xmas with oysters.

It is indeed…I am thinking resting at TWS until the weather cools off in September and then is it 1 or all of it, in my case on only 6 to the house?

I had a bottle of the 2009 last year which was drinking really well, so it’s very tempting to just guzzle the lot!
