This was lovely with some Chinese steamed sea-bass last night, Weinbach are one of the great Alsace producers in my opinion. Notice that a lot more Alsace wine at a range of price points has appeared on the WS website. Making the allocation of my wine budget even more of a juggling act!
Just opened another bottle of 2006 Weinert Cabernet Sauvignon to go with sausage and sweet potato mash. There was bit of risk, but it stood up very nicely to the sweetness of the mash.
I’ll be opening this tonight … The OH will be cooking a kilo of rib eye…, not sure what I’ll have yet as I’m not a big steak eater and we’ll probably hit some nice Gin afterwards ! He goes offshore Tuesday morning til January so planning a nice evening in tonight

@robert_mcintosh and @DrEm whilst you might have a point, I think her father enjoys sharing his wine with people who appreciate it…and I am more than happy to oblige given his collection of mature Bordeaux and Rhône!

Haha if my wishlist management is anything to go by then possibly - i just had to cull a few 'everyday ’ wines with my first wine without fuss case dropping on Wednesday…the wishlist is strictly for reeeeet fancy bottles now!
