We don’t usually drink on Mondays, but the daughter had left for her adventures, so some sort of routine breaker was needed… and Cab Franc is our sort of comfort blanket, needy parents that we are:
Cabernet Franc, Domaine du Bosc 2021
What a lovely lovely wine!
It enters in a ripe, rounded and succulent Languedoc fashion, but leaves with a leafy, tangy, savoury and moreish Loire fashion. On the nose – ripe strawberries, summer pudding, violets and damp earth.
On the palate – delicious hedgerow berries, strawberry yoghurt, and floral back notes. The fresh and bright acidity on the finish balances the ripe fruitiness, and there’s a surprising tannic grip, with a sort of earthy texture to it. So much to enjoy, and gentle on the purse (to say the least!).
Comfort blanket sorted for us. What are you drinking this week?
