have I logged into the wrong forum this morning ?!
Soooooo, changing the subject rapidly I have put a sparkling Vouvray into the fridge for this evening. Bought it last year on our travels. That’s about as romantic as it gets chez nous on Valentine’s Day.
Ooh, that’s an idea.
I’ve got a bottle or sparkling ice wine in the rack. No idea what it will be like apart from sweet & bubbly.
Snap!
Is that from Peller by any chance ?
Think it’s Iniskillin.
Picked it up on a Prime Day offer in 2018, my usual FOMO hitting hard for another novelty.
Edit, probably this (will report later if it does get swigged)
It’s my partners birthday tomorrow so she’s requested a “pudding wine party” this evening. My contributions are making ice cream to go with PX and some beignets because who doesn’t love deep fried dough in all its forms?
Peyronie’s love sausage by the looks of it. (Sorry, not posting links on this forum, you’ll need to look the Frenchman up).
Came across this beautiful creation at a photographic exhibition in London before Christmas… anyone recall it in their weight watchers recipe book?
One for the Valentine’s Day dinner table

gaaah!
Maybe save that for Sunday lunch with the in-laws
OH MY GOOD LORD ! What a way to display sausages
.
I found the method online, from Weight Watchers no less, and repeat for you below with an addition of my own.
Slice frankfurters lengthwise, but do not cut all the way through. (Do not separate halves). Open. Broil, cut side up on rack, about 3 inches from source of heat, for about 5 minutes. Add vinegar and poppy seeds to cabbage; toss thoroughly. Heap cabbage in a mound on the center of the baking dish. Lean cut side of frankfurters against cabbage to form a crown. Secure frankfurters with toothpicks. Pour water over cabbage. Bake at 350 degrees F for 10 minutes, or until cabbage is tender, but crisp. Garnish with pimento before carefully dropping the whole evil concoction in the bin.
I think that’s the surgical correction technique for peyronies but only after marinading in pimento for a week
Venison filet with crust of juniper, fennel and thyme. Truffle potatoes and salad.
C9DP Guigal 2007 from VCP is delicious too.
That is not a google search term for Valentines
I made my own card (as always) and cooked a beef casserol .my recipe. With it a southern Rhone wine.
The lovely Mrs W has gone out with the girls tonight
so this is providing my roses and romance for now…
