I’m just off on hols, but I couldn’t leave without announcing our next #twstaste virtual tasting!
#TWSTaste: Burgundy grapes, Alsace style, Thursday 7th November 8-9pm
We’ve picked these two wines from our Alsace 2017 offer, being mailed next week, and is an utter feast of foodie wine delights!
In amongst them are a couple that caught my eye, which I thought would make an intriguing opportunity for one of our tastings… a chardonnay and a pinot noir. Not the first grapes that come to mind for Alsace, but of course the two main grapes of the Burgundy region (which is increasingly tricky to afford…)
RED: Pinot Noir Domaine Paul Ginglinger 2017
WHITE: Chardonnay Vin de France Dopff au Moulin 2017
How to join in
If you’d like to join us and taste these wines together, simply:
Buy a bottle each of these two wines and make sure they’re delivered in time for Thursday 7th November, 2019
On the day, make sure the wines are chilled/decanted, invite over friends if you like, and you can even cook something to serve alongside it!
Then, just before 8pm on the 7th, join us here on The Community, where there’ll be a topic called ‘LIVE #TWSTaste’.
It looks that the wines from the Alsace offer are now up on the website… at least I can see Dirler Cade wines and the Beyer mixed case that was not available this morning.
Just bumping this up now the offer’s live, especially as we’ve now got a discussion going about finding a good alternative inexpensive pinot noir to the Society’s Red Burgundy… could the red we’ll be tasting fit the bill? The tasting note says it’s ‘made like a Burgundy’ according to the winemaker…
Yes, a little broad, description-wise maybe… but who knows? I’ve not tried much Alsace pinot so I’m looking forward to seeing how it compares to similar priced pinots
I have the wines delivered now so looking forward to this together with Guerilla Tasting #4 (shameless plug and another one below) - still time to put in an order for the 4 wines…
Or 6 wines if the currently shaping Guerilla #5 is also of interest.
