I recently bought a cse of Massif d’Uchaux Côtes du Rhône Villages Vieilles Vignes, Château Saint Estève 2015. Loved it but its no longer available . Any suggestions on something similar .
The wine you enjoyed was a Syrah/Grenache; probably about a 50/50 blend.
From TWS my tip would be either the 2015 Domaine de Mourchon Seguret CdR V (but it also includes 10% Carignan) made from 40 year old vines at 35hl/ha or the Sablières from Escaravailles which is 2018 so with not quite so much bottle age.
You can always check out the domaine websites for more precise details on % in the blend, vinification etc. to get as close a “like for like” as you wish.
Andrew. - thats so helpful - I hadn’t even thought of doing that (bit of a novice)
I will try them
Also it’s a wine that appears regularly on the TWS list so keep an eye out and the next vintage will appear at some point. Problem is predicting when!
And I have to agree with you it is a lovely wine!
