Thank you for flagging. I have opted for the Coddington on this occasion for no other reason than variety given that I have a few Mate’s and HH from previous vintages squirrelled away.

2010 Coddington was also my first (and probably my most enjoyable) Kumeu to date so hoping for a repeat 10 years on.


Some more sacred hill riflemans Chardonnay has appeared. Excellent value at £32 compared with the latest Kumeu single vinyards


Any idea how this compares with the Kumeu single vineyards? I’ve a few bottles in reserves and one at home. Seems to get fantastic reviews.

I haven’t tried mine yet but a friend who’s a very good judge was impressed. Quality wise it would be considered in the same company as Kumeu single vinyards. Not sure how it compares in style. 2019 is considered a n excellent vintage (as is 2020)

And now James Suckling’s 2020 Wine of the Year… I suspect the price next year may be considerably higher…
