Sancerre--all is lost

Anne and I are sitting in the town square at Sées in south Normandy. I ordered a half bottle of Sancerre. The alcohol is 14.5%. All that fresh acidity has gone. Lots of ripe round fruit. It tastes very new world.

I am trying to muster a tasting note. The best I can do is that it tastes like Pinot grigio gone mad.

Normal. Climate change!

As Pierre Perrin said on his TWS session yesterday, they’ll probably be planting Syrah in Burgundy with a decade.
