Recommend me some white wines from TWS

Hi

Tried a few white wines from TWS but mostly purchased reds, however I have tried and enjoyed TWS exhibition Sauvignon Blanc 2021 and Exhibition Santorini Assyrtiko 2020.
Lately Im drinking more white wine and hoping to get some recommendations to try. I like dry whites, I normally spend around £7-9 on a bottle but sometimes stretch to £10-14 like the bottles I mentioned.

Any recommendations welcome as would like to get a few whites for my next purchase from TWS.

Thanks

It’s not due back in stock until the 30th but The Society's White Rioja 2020 is my house white. Towards the top of your price range I am a big fan of https://www.thewinesociety.com/product/the-societys-exhibition-chenin-blanc-western-cape-2020 too (https://www.thewinesociety.com/product/vouvray-spring-tania-and-vincent-careme-2018 is another example of the same grape only from France rather than SA).

Vignes Retrouvees is the best sub tenner white on the site

The Society’s Muscadet is my summer house white every year!

Thanks everyone, have tried some mentioned, will be sure to check the rest out.

The white that has most impressed me in that range is the Foundry rousanne, with a few years in the cellar. I would genuinely be pleased with it at twice the price. Nowhere near the same wine when very young though

Anything from the Foundry is a great choice in my view. Ive really enjoyed a couple of cases of their Grenache Blanc. Though i think prices on the up a little!

I haven’t tried the 2021, but the Society’s Greek White in previous years has been excellent.

A couple of contrasting sylvaners - dry from Beyer, less so from Rolly Gassmann (but still balanced)

If you’ve not tried Alsace pinot gris, this is a not a bad place to start.

This Riesling from Boeckel is good.

Can’t argue with any of the recommendations so far, here’s a couple more…

A touch of chardonnay in this sauvignon from the Loire. Not had this vintage but have always enjoyed in the past.

This is really interesting wine for the money, nothing like dull, neutral supermarket Italian wine!

Enough already

Think I got plenty here to try now, lol, thanks again for all recommendations. I have actually tried a few mentioned, the trere arlus albana secca, was ok, bit different I guess, just wasn’t quite sure about it.
Same goes for the Society’s greek white, that was nice, but nothing interesting, tasted quite bland from what I remember.

Will defiantly be trying some mentioned though, so thanks again everyone.

Got my order today, ordered a few mentioned on here such as the Vignes Retrouvees, Societys Muscadet, and Alsace Pinot Gris.

I also ordered this which I’ve had before and I thought it was very nice, It’s well worth a try to those who have not had it before.

I agree re the Verdeca - very nice anyway, and v.good for the price IMO.

I used to visit Puglia often for work, and Verdeca was a wine I used to seek out in the evenings. Always at least pretty good, and often very good. Goes well with the often quite flavoursome Pugliese food, being pretty flavoursome itself!

Don’t over-chill the Society’s Muscadet :innocent:

As a general rule, don’t overchill any wine.

With the following exceptions:

  1. Undrinkable plonk
  2. English Sparkling Wine (except where the grapes are from Crouch Valley, in a good year)

Even more generally, don’t “over-X any Y” . It’s a truism based on the definition of “over”.

Mods: Feel free to move this to the pedantry thread :slightly_smiling_face:
