It is far from uncommon for wines to go through dumb periods, particularly in the spring. As the weather warms up, the wine can go into a form of hibernation. In most cases, if this happens, they will come out of it again after 2 or 3 months.
Thanks for taking the time to reply and for your thoughts, much appreciated. The first bottle that disappointed was opened in March 2015 and the other two months later ( after checking The Captain’s Log ! ). Very interesting.
One of the great things about a community like this is the chance to discuss what one thinks with like minded people and to gain further insight and knowledge as a result. Before joining I just used to have conversations with myself !
