I see this is only being sold by TWS and by the brewery directly so it seems an innocent charitable effort rather than anything more sinister.

Sounds very much like “Blood-sucking Lawyers” from the Staggeringly Good brewery.
… except that one is made with blood oranges, not mandarins. Similar artwork too.
