Overfilled bottles

Last night I opened a bottle of Domaine du Moulin D’École, Moulin-a-Vent 2016 (now out of stock). The bottle was overfilled and I got a sprinkling of wine over me and the worktop as the cork came out.

This doesn’t happen very often but when it does - it’s always a beaujolais. Does anyone know why?

Decent drink, by the way.

Maybe Angels don’t like Beaujolais?

Possibly! I wonder if it is an attempt to reduce oxidation.
