Despite being within easy driving distnce of the Norfolk Showground and for the last five years within a mile walking distance, I have never been to the Royal Norfolk Show which is on this week coming, this is the biggest two day show in the country and is very succesful, whilst sadly quite few county shows have gone to the wall in recent times.
The free catalogue fell out of the local paper and I said we must make the effort to go this yer w will with luck be moving so could be the last chance.
Amongst all the info in the catalogue was the food hall sponsored by Adnams the famous Southwold Suffolk brewers who are also wine merchants, they have a huge stand called the Food and Drink experience offering non stop demonstrations and free nibbles and drinks though I could see no sign of wine on offer !
But in the same hall sponsored by HSBC are several small food and drink businesses, including three Norfolk Vineyards in addition to the award winning Winbirri vineyard that has its own stand.
Anyway I had no idea we were surrounded by these vineyards and to the show we will go, there is also a rival brewer at the show with a pop up bar Lacons of Great Yarmouth, I don’t drink much beer these days but I do enjoy one or two of Lacons so with all this on offer and no need to drive of to the show we go, and we have the pig racing !
