Yes, indeed, fine wine. I’ve provided some feedback. Tbh, at £20 a bottle I’d do better buying from TWS and targeting spend a bit.
I decided some time ago to never again buy mystery cases (from anyone) and only buy wine I actually wanted.
I saw that when the listing was first added, the review seemed to relate to previous box at a lower value. The review now seems to have been deleted but the 1 star rating remains.
I rationalize it as a ‘secret santa’ gift to myself. Contents unknown until unwrapped, will be interesting and perhaps even challenging in parts - but certainly enjoyable. ref: the previous case (bottles unopend due to the curse of dry January)
The contents of my Fine Wine Six-Bottle Mystery Case at £165 and for those that like to add up the values, I price it at between £180-190 (if you can find them!)
- Saint-Joseph, Les Grands Ducs, Domaine Merlin 2017
- Château Cantemerle, Haut-Médoc 2012
*Kumeu River, Rays Road Chardonnay, Hawkes Bay, New Zealand 2021 - Klein Constantia Perdeblokke Sauvignon Blanc, Constantia 2020
- Côtes du Jura Pinot Noir, En Barberon, Andre & Mireille Tissot 2019
- Domäne Wachau Ried Achleiten Smaragd Riesling, Wachau 2012
That’s a super selection! I would have been very very happy with it (especially the Jura and the Achleiten! )
A pretty surprising selection and definitely a step up from previous cases. No regrets here.
Ooops! realised I accidentally revealed a couple. Apologies!
I’d take that case. Nice!
Now they DO look good. I’m particularly interested in that Jura P.N. (and not cheap to buy elsewhere) I’ve never had one of them.
Well, my £165 Fine Wine case arrived and here they all are:
I’m reasonably pleased with that. The Garmón and Wachau especially. A nice SB and Chardonnay, a decent claret. No idea about the St. Joseph but sure it’ll be fine.
Very happy with either of those cases, but I’ve spent the wine budget this month… no i have, i have!
