In the Press Reviews from Decanter 26th Nov 2014
Apparently this well regarded Sauternes now hails from “Languedoc”
Maybe Decanter should consider sending tasters on WSET 101 or a trainee at the WS lost their map of France.
Maybe we could use this thread for the odd “faux pas!!” lol

Sounds like that one was a Decanter error. I have (only very) occasionally noticed errors in the Society’s own list. When it has happened, I’ve sent a quick email pointing it out. I haven’t thought to ask if it helped or to follow same up though.

Or it could be that a review for the wrong wine got posted on TWS?

blackcurrant and dark cherry fruit, and a hint of black pepper sound more like a southern red wine rather than a dessert wine

A search of Decanter’s tasting notes for this wine has only one review dated 2014 and that says

Tasted by Jeannie Cho Lee MW 17 Fresh and pure, this wine has lifted dried mango and apricot flavours. Layered and intense, there is wonderful precision and detail in this vintage. Drinking Window 2019 - 2026

Since Decanter rated it 17/20 I wonder if it would have been in a list of 50 best wines of the year?

Thanks, you may well be correct.
