Quite often there are incentives to “recommend a friend” etc… best thing is to contact member services who can advise you on current offers.

There quite often are - most recent I recall was the chance to win a Rhone buying trip but I can’t find the link.

It used to be that you had to be recommended by a member to join but nowadays I can’t see the value in declaring who suggested you, at least not for the person buing membership.
