Lunch with a Buyer: Tim Sykes, Tuesday 19th May, 1-2pm

All wine pages should have all the information on the relevant page.
Some wine pages are incomplete.
That situation might be remedied!

Sorry you feel that way.

In that case, the Society should have a mechanism to ensure that wine pages are complete before publication. ( a better way to make my point)

The WS Buyers are without compare, I contend.
You get us a fabulous range of wines at good prices.
But there will always be issues, this is a small one, easily rectified!! :grinning:

As always, time has flown and unfortunately we’ve come to the end of this event! :sob: Thank you all so much for taking part and for posting your questions - I’ve thoroughly enjoyed reading them.

I’d also like to say a huge thank you to our Buyer Tim Sykes @SykoWino for taking the time to join us this afternoon and answer your questions!

Please join us again next Tuesday lunchtime, when we will be joined by our Director of Wine Pierre Mansour! Please leave your advance questions on the topic below:

Thank you all again and another huge thank you to Tim Sykes! I’m now off to add some sherry to my next Wine Society order…

Thanks so much to @SykoWino for giving up your time and offering such insightful and helpful answers!

I don’t quite know what led to a couple of the more heated posts at the end of this event, but I think it’s worth reminding everyone that the buyers are giving up their lunchtime to come and answer all of your questions - while they always provide a helpful answer, it doesn’t mean they’re able to acquiesce to every piece of feedback. I feel a couple of the comments above are not in the spirit of these events.

I whole heartily agreed. Some of us need to be more civil.

I’m glad you said this, @Laura - because I was honestly baffled by the tone of a couple posts! You’d think it’s pretty obvious that the buyers are giving up their lunchtime to answer questions… strange behaviour.

If I overstepped the mark, then I apologise.

Fair enough, but saying this lack of information is ‘shoddy’ seems to me to be disrespectful and throwing accusations around. Secondly, I am not sure how much the buyers are involved with the transfer of information from their notes to the actual website, so personally I would rather check before suggesting it was his responsibility to do so.
