Is it ever?
Good Evening we are opening a bottle of Au Bon Climat 2014 Pinot Noir
Evening, Darryl - and welcome!
Snap!
A present from the late John Avery. Many years ago…
Okay everyone! Let’s get going
Have a swirl and a sniff of your wine - and tell us what you think of the nose?
Don’t forget to include the name of the wine you’re tasting at the start of your posts so we can keep track with what we’re all drinking!
I haven’t had that in ages! I have serious Chardonnay envy now
Amazing! I love the Au Bon Climat chardonnay and haven’t had the pinot in ages - looking forward to hearing what you think.
McManis, Petit Syrah - on the nose the wine oaked with lots of extracted red fruit lots of jammy fruit especially plums.
Its a Au Bon Climat-off tonight, good showing from ABC
Woooooaaaaah! A special night for you!
Swoon… I’m jealous
Got the big guns coming out this evening!
We have been to Stags Leap Cellars and met a rattle snake. Great property and lovely wines.
Au Bon Climat Knox Alexander 1999.
Had a disintegrated cork. Very slight bricking, but basically standard oldish pinot noir colour.
Stewed fruit, and a lot of spice. Got a distinct whiff of alcohol when I poured, but it seems to have largely blown off.
Ah, I haven’t had this in a year or two - it’s a real favourite among Society staff, especially at Christmas!
