Enjoying a sunny-sip of an award-winning pinot nero from Cortona DOC (SW Tuscany). A bit like burgundy with a bit of attitude. Wine from this DOC is difficult to source in the UK so I was ecstatic to receive the order I’d placed pre-lockdown (remember then?). Cortona is a fantastic area to visit and has many really progressive small growers…. thoroughly recommend it if you get the opportunity. Really good use of syrah in this DOC, and of course sangiovese which is typical in this part of Tuscany. Anyone else have a great wine-moment/s in the midst of lockdown gloom?
