Me too. Thanks @Rafa
Mine arrived today . I got spares for at least a decade
Mine also arrived today. A decade is a bit optimistic for me though. General clumsiness is a terrible curse.
Any photos?!
My 4 Spiegelau Burgundies arrived today…box and tissue paper was like unwrapping an Ingres Painting. Gorgeous.
The glasses are almost impossible to distinguish from Zaltos…so…bravo Spiegelau.
I’ve got my beady eye on these too - they look really good, I must say; Zalto-esque but dishwasher-friendly - what’s not to like really.
Probably get a try out tomorrow - comparing an old and new world Pinot… will see if I’m in any state to review (the glass)
I dishwasher my Zaltos without any problems too, although I have to say that at half the price of Zaltos these would get my money if I were buying now.
The lunatics have finally taken over the asylum!!
Riediculous (sic)
I always thought that when you drank something English and fizzy the glass traditionally had a handle on it…is there any need to change?
They are if you choose to handwash, as I did. Won’t make that mistake again!
Picked up 8 Riedel Vinum Cabernet glasses today at Costco for £39.97 Seems a bit of a bargain to me!
Has anyone used these, will have to open a good Bordeaux next weekend to give them a test run!
That’s a very good deal. Might not be the thinnest glass available, but for a big red they do the business.
I picked up some “Ernesto” (Lidl own brand) white wine glasses on a whim and I’ve been enjoying drinking from them a lot more than I expected - obviously they’re not as fine as the more expensive variants, but the only way they really feel cheap to me is that the mould seams on the stem are noticeable. Anyway they seem to be back in Lidl this week, and if anyone’s looking for cheap Gabriel-ish shaped glasses I think they’re well worth a looK:
I’m a big fan of that theory. I’ve got some sainsbury’s glasses that are a good ringer for a Zalto universal, at £15/4 rather than £40 each!
Being a bit over the top on wine glass last night I did a little experiment. I opened a bottle of Meerlust Ribicon 2017. I poured some wine into three different glasses.
1 Jancis Robinson & Richard Brendon
2 Riedel Veritas Cab/Sav
3 Spiegelan Definition Bordeaux
One glass came out on top by far for pure pleasure. What would be your pick I will let you know the result on Tuesday. Lets have some fun.
I will have a guess at the Riedel - interested to know the outcome because I’m considering buying some of the Spiegelaus.
