Here we go, the first wine from Jancis Robinson’s selection is out:
I have never tried it. I wonder how many of you had.

It’s the Juhfark! A wine this Community seems to have taken to its heart for a while, if I remember rightly!
If anyone wants to tune in, the discussion is happening here: https://www.instagram.com/thewinesociety1874/
Quite a number of us, I think. It was included in one of the #twstaste events probably over a year ago (if not longer). I wouldn’t go as far as saying it’s got a ‘cult’ following here, but certainly there are many fans, of which I’m one.
Straight into my wish list
Number two is a Grenacha, not my go to grape, but one which I appreciate nevertheless.
Madeira is her number three choice, and I couldn’t agree more. Lasts forever and goes well with almost anything.
I missed that being on the list! It’s an amazing wine!
I knew there was a reason Jancis was my favourite! We’re 3 for 3 on wines I adore!
Do love Madeira
@NW3Andre I bought 2 bottles recently and have to say I was disappointed in the first one. It must be me and it was generally well reviewed. I’ll put away the other bottle for a couple of years.
At this point, a single bottle is not too much of a risk. Post-lockdown, I have been on a buying spree to the point where I have no room to store any more cases, just single bottles! I need to start drinking more.
Interesting. I am definitely going to adjust my expectations.
Loving your blog.
Is this recorded? Could not find on youtube.
I’m a fan too! Usually my last read before switching off (the light, the brain)… Shame we don’t see more of Geoff here these days.
It’s on instagram
Thanks! All paid for by us. No ‘gifts’ or press samples.
Just taken delivery of a TWS case today, mainly Christmas/birthday presents including this very Madeira for my mam, along with this one as well
She spent a lot of time on Madeira with my late father and is very fond of it in all its various iterations. I’ll try to remember to tell her what august wine expert company she is keeping in her tastes.
