Closure of showroom

I agree with you on all counts there. It is very, very unusual for me to spend that kind of money on a wine but I felt it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to try something that is very difficult to get hold of, and I am currently in the fortunate position to be able to do so.

We do apologise for the inevitable inconvenience, Sheila.

We informed members of the decision to close just three hours after it had been taken, quite a fast turnaround given all the information that was in the email and the need to prepare staff for the consequences.

Purely down to our ways of working. Orders with a given delivery date are only picked the day before that date, arriving at the showroom at end of play on that day. We simply don’t have the storgae space in our collections area to keep orders there that aren’t planned to be collected, I’m afraid.

I’m sure this is being looked at, but the increased costs of small-order delivery would need to be closely examined. Not something that would be sustainable over a long period.

As your order was due for collection on Thursday, doubtless you will receive a call today. We prioritised those who had planned to collect on Wednesday. You will be able to collect from the shutter doors to the left of the Showrrom entrance.

Sounds like ‘Click & Collect’. Is this service only for members who have already placed an order to be collected, or available ongoing for new orders?

(I have placed orders while abroad to be collected on 30 March after my hoped for return)

It’s only for orders already placed, Peter. You’ll receive a message from us nearer the time of collection. We have a pick-up date of 28th March at the mo.

Thanks, Ewan

28th is correct, I was guessing in previous post, I recalled it was around end of month.

It’ll be nice to get out of isolation and have a drive with purpose.
