One of my friends actually called me to complain last summer that he was “completely white burgundy-ied out” and needed some alternative white wine recommendations. Life can be so difficult sometimes.
I couldn’t face another glass of Bâtard-Montrachet. Love it!
Not far off the conversation, verbatim…
I can understand that. I presume that you told him to drink red Burgundy instead?
Trust me, I love variety. How many choices did I list above?
Surely the choices on this thread are red or white.
On this note - I had two beautiful wines at a friend’s 50th birthday dinner at Noizé last night (supplied by the birthday boy).
2018 Rollin Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru
2011 Taupenot-Merme Mazoyeres-Chambertin Grand Cru
Both drinking very well, with a little air.
There is an occasional rose produced sadly…
At £60 a bottle?
You can get a bottle of red for that. Why go pink?
I know. Heresy.
Don’t forget about Cremant de Bourgogne though…
…and if you’re really keen to complete the set - Marc, Fine & Ratafia de Bourgogne.
Marc de Bourgogne sounds like a character in a film set during medieval times
Not forgetting: Crème de Cassis de Bourgogne to go with your Aligoté.
One bottle of Domaine de Bellene, Côte de Nuits-Villages Vieilles Vignes 2019 and 16 bottles of Jérôme Galeyrand, Gevrey-Chambertin Billard 2015, just listed, if anybody is interested…
Everyone is counting their fully allocated 2021 EP Roumier bottles, they might give it a pass
Checked Galeyrand and already out of stock
