Australia Day -

#1

With tomorrow being Australia Day will anyone else be cracking open anything from Oz over the weekend?

I would normally spend Australia Day on the beach having Oysters and Semillon so I’m going to do a comparative Semillon tasting with these two…
Tyrrell’s Belford
and
Peter Lehman Margaret

I also think the 07 d’Arenberg Dead Arm looks very tempting for a special treat.

Surprisingly the Margaret and Dead Arm are both significantly cheaper through the Wine Society than they are back home in Sydney. Almost makes up for the weather!

Sounds good, though the weather is not that conducive to imagining being in Australia right now

Enjoying an open bottle of this st the moment (my wife said; “now THIS is my kind of wine”)

So many good Aussie chards on the list. Is going to make choosing what we show at the Australian regional tasting in April very difficult.

Had this tonight.
It’s been a few years since I had Hunter Valley Semillon and this was lovely.
Textbook lemon and limes with a waxy feel.
An Aussie classic!
