(Abra)Kadarka online tasting [ARCHIVED - 9 May 2019]

tasting

#41

Yes, I was noticing that.

#42

Cranberry - that’s it!

#43

Typical Kadarka nose. Pear drops here too, ripe blackberries

#44

Oops, I already have.

#45

Do tell!! :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

#46

Yes, surprised no one else has commented on the colour (I was going to then forgot). It’s pale but a rather lovely ruby to brick ted colour.

#47

Right, cranberry juice…

#48

blackberries for sure

#49

Tavel rose colour

#50

GF: The colour of my bedroom when I was 15. You know that aubergine that comes out too brown… :joy:

#51

Drink if you haven’t yet…

#52

Lovely acidity, soft tannins, sour red fruit, quite a surprisingly long finish for me.

#53

On the palate it sings, wow

#54

I so wish I’d chilled this…
:: gets cool sleeve ::

#55

Darker fruits on the palate, very appealing tartness, soft tannins, maybe a little short on the finish.

#56

Told you so…

#57

Rosehip!! Ah- nailed it for me.

#58

The one that always gets mentioned with light bodied reds !

#59

I’d have said almost no tannins at all. very soft and creamy in the mouth. That sourness/acidity is more up front than on the nose but overly so.

#60

Interesting… red fruits definitely there, but with strong cranberry flavours, some blackberry, slight leather and a little black olive tapenade. It also has a touch of that smell of used pipe tobacco but on the palate.
